“We’ve crushed fascism before — and we’ll crush it again,” says Ken Turner, a former Allied soldier, as he destroys a Tesla with a World War II-era Sherman tank.
Ken Turner, a 98-year-old British World War II veteran, made a bold and symbolic statement by getting back behind the wheel of a Sherman tank — the same model used by his army during the conflict — to crush a Tesla car. The act was a direct protest against Elon Musk and what Turner believes is the funding of far-right movements in Europe through the sale of Tesla vehicles.
“His money comes from Tesla. Well, I have a message for Mr. Musk: we’ve crushed fascism before — and we’ll crush it again,” Turner declared as his tank rolled over the electric vehicle.
Dressed in his wartime uniform, the veteran reminded the world of the generation that fought against Nazism and issued a fresh warning against what he sees as the rise of modern authoritarian regimes. “We already defeated fascism once, and we’ll do it again.”
