The rampant rumors circulating social media that Apple ($AAPL@US) bought $2.5 billion worth of Bitcoin (BTC-USD) have officially been disputed over the claims that Apple would never do something that would create controversy. A Bitcoin purchase would be controversial as when Elon Musk’s Tesla ($TSLA@US) did it earlier this year; the company was met with significant backlash.
